One killed as Forte oil tanker falls on car in Lagos (photos)

A Mack Truck laden with 33,000 litre PMS belonging to Forte Oil fell on a Hyunda Saloon Car with registration number KJA 421 AH today, and instantly killed the unidentified adult male driver of the car.

According to Lagos State Emergency Management Agency-LASEMA, they received a distress alert through the Lagos state toll free emergency number 767/112 and reacted immediately.





The Mack Truck with registration number AGL 664 XG fell due to overspeeding of the driver while
trying to turn at the Round About.

The prompt response of the Emergency responders and the security operatives which includes the Agency Emergency Response Team, Lagos State Fire Service, LASTMA, Civil Defense, FRSC and The Nigeria Police force to the scene for recovery operation prevented the incident from escalating into a major disaster with the spillage and also promiximity of the incident to a filling station.

The truck was carefully lifted upright, while the dead body was extricated by the LASEMA Response Team with the use of light duty equipments and subsequently taken to Ikorodu General Hospital Mortuary.

The accidented vehicles were cleared off the road and handed to the Nigerian Police Force.
